Lymphedema

Lymphedema is swelling caused by excessive lymphatic fluid accumulation beneath the skin. It can occur anywhere but is most pronounced in the limbs. In our part of the country, these are caused mostly by filariasis (elephantiasis) and after surgery for some cancers. Lymphedema has different presentations which require different types of surgical and at times, non-surgical treatment. There is no single method of treatment which will address all types of lymphedema.CPS practices only safest and evidence-based and time proven surgical techniques to treat lymphedema incorporating the updated knowledge in this difficult field.
