Dr. John Oommen completed his medical graduation at Medical College Trivandrum in 1979, and joined the Christian Medical College Vellore, for his Diploma in Ear nose and Throat surgery, and later his Master’s degree in ENT surgery. In his interest to pursue cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, he took his MCh in Plastic surgery from Chennai. He worked briefly in the department of plastic surgery in CMC, Vellore, and later took his training in microvascular, craniofacial and aesthetic surgery. He has worked as consultant plastic surgeon in the Kovai Medical Centre Coimbatore, the MMM hospital Kolencherry, among other centers within India and abroad, including the UAE. He was senior consultant to the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences Calicut. He is presently Senior Consultant, Dept of Plastic, Burns & Reconstructive Surgery at Baby Memorial Hospital Calicut and runs consultancy and surgery in Calicut and in Coimbatore.
